Better Read, Better Fed is a book club-style program designed to expose more members of our community to the literary genius of Black writers - leaving us much better read and philosophically better fed.If you desire to delve a little deeper into African American literature in a creative and engaging way, then this is for you!
Our studio will offer multiple sessions throughout 2022. Each session is 4-5 weeks long and will feature a different book. Featured books will be selected a wide range of literary works created by both renowned and novice Black authors, orators, storytellers and historians. From the more noted works of brilliant veteran writers, to themore modern creative works of fresh literary minds.
Black literature not only tells our stories, but it influences much of the other art we consume, including music and film. In honor of this book recently being greenlit as an upcoming TV series, our first session will very first book will be "Kindred" by renowned author Octavia Butler.
