Anxiety disorders are by far the most prevalent mental health diagnoses in the U.S., and are experienced by children and youth as well as adults. This presentation will review the anxieties experienced by students and provide suggestions for simple school-based interventions and adjustments. An ongoing concern for school personnel is non-suicidal self-injury among students. This presentation will also discuss underlying dynamics related to this problem and suggestions for coping on the part of school staff and for supporting the student.
