Come learn to make beautiful gems from natural stone. This fun and relaxing class is open to OGMS club members and non-members of the community alike.
Project: A cabochon will be completed using our state of the art equipment, and instruction from our highly skilled instructor. In this 8 week program students will be guided through processes including safety practices, equipment use, stone properties and best working practices for success. With proper time management students should be able to complete several cabochons. Students may take this class multiple times to strengthen their skills.
This class is open to adults, 18+
Cancellation policy No refunds for cancellations. If registrant must cancel due to medical emergency or natural disaster conditions. (fire, flooding etc), credit will be extended to the next available class session. Please check your calender for availability before reserving class space. We will not provide make-up classes for lack of childcare or scheduling conflicts.

RESERVATION ONLY: Registration must be completed at at www.oxnardgem.com REGISTRATION: Must be approved by admin. This basic lapidary class will teach you the fundamentals of gem carving. Students will complete at least one cabochon during class, and can achieve several complete cabochons if they manage their time well. Maximum of 8 students per class.
