How can we listen to space — and move through sound?
In this workshop, artist, musician, and storyteller Sebastian Frisch — known for his poetic approach to sound art, hybrid instruments, and work at V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam — will guide participants into the creative possibilities of spatial listening and acoustic perception.
Sebastian’s practice combines natural processes with digital tools to reveal hidden layers in our environment. In this session, he will introduce the theory behind spatial hearing, share examples from his research in (bio)acoustics and multi-sensory art, and invite you to experiment hands-on with SPASM 4 Live, a custom sound system for exploring sound through movement.
The workshop also opens up questions about how we perceive space, how sound shapes our experience of the world, and how new technologies can expand our creative vocabulary.
Whether you’re interested in sound design, immersive art, or simply curious about deep listening, this is an invitation to tune into new dimensions and create your own sonic worlds.
