This one-day course explores the challenges and safeguarding risks associated with working in the football club charity environment, with a focus on how to manage and mitigate risk to ultimately benefit the participants and staff involved. A contextual approach to safeguarding will form an integral theme throughout the day.
Learning Outcomes:
- Explain how to apply best practice principles in contextual safeguarding when assessing and mitigating risk as well as when planning community events and activities
- Assess and mitigate the safeguarding risks associated with participants joining events and activities in the football club charityenvironment, incorporating a contextual approach to safeguarding practice
- Demonstrate how to undertake and record a dynamic safeguarding risk assessment and implement a mitigation plan in the context of a safeguarding incident or identified contextual risk
- Understand the professional pitfalls associated with assessments that are non-contextual, how to strengthen our skill in professional challenge to engage specialist services
- Support colleagues and delivery staff to integrate and apply the principles of contextual safeguarding in their everyday practice, risk assessments and mitigation plans
- Recognise and mitigate the personal safety risks associated with working in the football club charityenvironment
