Lincoln-Douglas is often a confusing amalgamation of fallacies, exceptional claims, and incomprehensible arguments.

It doesn't have to be.

Join the highest-ranked speaker and debater in the nation, Drew Magness, for three days of intense learning. We'll unpack the keys to LD and discover how regardless of your experience level, you can create elegantly simple cases containing lethal argumentation.

We'll unpack the 8 elements of effective speaking, how to run values that get the job done, the secret to minimizing confusion, running applications that matter, cross-ex like a lawyer, and so much more.

Regardless of your experience level, there's a lot to learn.

Let's make your next season, your best season.

FAQ's:

What formats will you be coaching?

LD only.

What experience level is this camp intended for?

I'm going to focus on novice and intermediate students. Novice students are students with 1-2 years of experience who have yet to experience much competitive success. Intermediate students are students who have achieved intermittent success but are still trying to achieve consistent results.

What league will you be coaching?

I'll be coaching debate. Regardless of what league you compete in, this camp will work for you. However, since the audience is mostly from Stoa at this camp, I'll be using cases and examples from the Stoa resolutions as well as having some sessions to strategize the new resolutions.

How old do I have to be before I can attend?

We recommend attendees be above the age of thirteen. See this video for an explanation of why. However, this is more of a guideline than a rule. Email me at drewster236@gmail.com if you're interested in an exception.

Will you be providing housing?

There is limited host-housing available. Email Trish Youmans at youmanspr@aol.com for more information.

Drew Magness

Drew Magness is finishing up his senior year of high-school by competing in 18 total speech and debate tournaments in one season, participating in NCFCA, Stoa, and NSDA with 10 speech events, TP, LD, Parli, and Moot Court. Endlessly dedicated to the activity, there’s nothing Drew would rather be doing than competing or coaching speech and debate. Drew believes that the greatest growth that occurs in speech and debate is in the realm of character development. Learning how to own your failures, work hard, and communicate to those who have opposing ideas are vital life skills that are mastered in speech and debate competition. Drew is ranked first nationally out of over 1,700 students in the 2017-2018 season on Speechranks.com. He holds over 40 first place titles in multiple speeches and debate formats and a dozen debate championships in four debate formats and three leagues. He has placed in the top 3 over 75 times in a variety of speeches and debate formats and has coached dozens of students to find success in speech, debate, and life in online personal sessions, camps, workshops, and online clubs.
