Josh Sundquist is a motivational speaker, comedian and bestselling author who has shared his story with audiences across the world, ranging from schools to the White House to Fortune 50 companies like Facebook, Walmart, Apple, Spotify, Google, CVS and General Motors. Josh is an in-demand keynote speaker for groups of sales people, educators, student leaders, and health professionals.

At age nine, Josh was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and given a fifty percent chance to live. He spent a year on chemotherapy treatments and his left leg was amputated. Doctors declared Josh cured of the disease at age thirteen and he took up ski racing three years later.

Josh trained for the next five years and in 2006 he was named to the US Paralympic Ski Team for The Paralympic Games in Turino, Italy. Today, Josh represents the United States in international competition as a member of the U.S. Amputee Soccer Team.

On the internet, Josh is best known for his viral photos, especially his Halloween costumes. His videos have been viewed over 1 billion times and he has over four million followers.

People Magazine named him to the 2017 "Social Media Power List." As a social media influencer, he's worked with brands like Apple, Meta, Tommy Hilfiger, Chase, Chevrolet and AT&T.

Josh is an ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and makes regular appearances at events and in the media to raise money for children's hospitals across the country. He has been featured on the back of Doritos bags (specifically, Spicy Nacho flavor) for his work on behalf of amputees.

Josh has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, NPR and CNN. His first memoir, Just Don't Fall, was a National Bestseller and his second memoir We Should Hang Out Sometime was optioned for movie rights by a division of Disney. His debut novel Love and First Sight was published in 2017. Josh's fourth book, Semi-Famous was released in 2022. His books have been translated into German, Italian, and Turkish and have been published in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Turkey, Italy, and Austria.

Josh is an executive producer and writer on the Emmy award-winning television series, Best Foot Forward on Apple TV+. The series is inspired by his childhood.

Danielle Winiecki has 15 years of experience in group benefits, benefits administration and developing solutions to meet employee’s healthcare needs. As a Director of Business Development for ICHRA at Ambetter Health she's passionate about ICHRA and how it can transform the way healthcare is provided to employees.

Andy is a proud Cheesehead with over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in individual health insurance products, administration, technology, and marketing. His background spans ICHRA administration, brokering ICHRA plans, and now, on the carrier side, he's passionate about developing ancillary products that align with ICHRA strategies. Grateful to be part of the insurance world, Andy is over the moon about the potential and innovation ICHRA brings to the table.

Rob Ruiz-Moss has 30 plus years experience in numerous facets of the healthcare market.  Rob has been instrumental in developing Elevance Health’s Individual ACA business model and its evolutions since the inception of the ACA. Rob is also as one of nine members of Colorado’s Health Benefits Exchange Board.

Michael is the Senior Vice President of ICHRA at HealthSherpa, where he leads the strategy and execution of Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA). Before joining HealthSherpa, Michael founded and served as CEO of Ideon. A self-described "benefits geek," he is deeply passionate about driving the shift in employee benefits from defined benefit plans to defined contribution models, with a focus on creating innovative, impactful solutions for both employers and employees.

Tom Cohen, EVP of Healthcare Solutions at W3LL, a Softheon company, leverages his deep expertise in healthcare technology to drive advanced solutions that enhance the healthcare ecosystem. As a passionate advocate for Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA), he sees it as a transformative opportunity to redefine healthcare benefits through simplification, efficiency, and transparency.

Peter is a Senior Reporter for Health Payer Specialist. He covers the ins and outs of the US health insurance industry, including commercial, marketplace, Medicare and Medicaid. He previously covered the insurance industry at AIS Health. He is based in New York.

Duncan Greenberg is a Venture Partner at Oak HC/FT, focused on supporting its healthcare investments. He was previously SVP of Product at Oscar Health, responsible for the company's digital product strategy and roadmap. During his eight years at Oscar, he played a leading role in many parts of the business including overseeing member experience, virtual care technology, and the company's AI initiatives. He is an active health tech angel and often invited to speak on applications of AI in healthcare.

Will Johnson is the Vice President, ICHRA Growth at Oscar Health, where he's focused on driving key initiatives to help grow the ICHRA market and deliver a market leading product. Will has been with Oscar for almost a decade and has held roles within Oscar's technology platform business, Growth, and P&L organizations during his tenure.  Before joining Oscar, Will was an Associate Consultant at Bain and Company where he advised Telecomm, Technology, and Healthcare clients on Market Entry Strategy and Product Portfolio Management. Will is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he was also a member of their 2011 College World Series baseball program.

Nick Welle is a partner at Foley & Lardner and the Chair of the Firm’s Health Benefits Practice, where he leads several attorneys focused on group health plan matters. Nick exclusively devotes his practice to issues impacting group health and welfare benefit plans, focusing on health care reform issues and consumer-driven health benefits. Nick regularly advises his clients on matters concerning the Affordable Care Act (ACA), HIPAA privacy, No Surprises Act, Price Transparency, COBRA, ERISA, flexible benefit plans, wellness programs, HRAs, HSAs, plan network design, MEWAs, association health plans, captive insurance arrangements, and other health benefit issues.  He works closely with plan administrators, plan sponsors (e.g., employers), PBMs, TPAs, consultants, ICHRA vendors, and other plan service providers in the health benefits space.  Nick is routinely quoted and used as a legal expert resource on health plan issues for prominent media outlets, such as Bloomberg Law, Law360, Kaiser Health News, Wall Street Journal, and others. Nick is an original member of the HRA Council, sits on its Compliance Subcommittee, and presents to the Council at large on legal compliance issues impacting ICHRAs.  Nick works with many companies in the ICHRA space and has written numerous pieces on ICHRA compliance. 

Mark Mixer joined Health One Alliance in 2008 and has been the CEO of Health One Alliance, LLC, the parent company of HRASimple, Alliant Health Plans, and Serventy Insurance Company, since 2015. Under his leadership, HRASimple has become a national leader in Individual Coverage HRAs (ICHRA), serving clients of all sizes across the U.S., with its largest client having over 4,300 employees. Mark founded HRASimple in late 2019—writing one of the first ICHRAs in the country, positioning it at the forefront of this transformative health care model. Mark is a co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of The HRA Council, a nationally recognized advocate for ICHRA education and legislation. Through his leadership, the Council has become a trusted source of data-driven insights and neutral policy guidance for federal agencies and congressional committees. His expertise has made him one of the nation’s leading subject matter experts on ICHRA policy and implementation. He co-authored NABIP’s 3-hour ICHRA certification course and is one of its nationally recognized speakers, frequently presenting across the country. He is also deeply involved in legislative efforts, including a 2025 initiative in Georgia where a partnership with Oscar and Centene, supported by the Department of Insurance, is working to pass an ICHRA tax credit bill. Beyond his work in health insurance, Mark is passionate about theology and the Bible, which deeply influences his leadership approach. His commitment to servant leadership is rooted in biblical principles—focusing on integrity, stewardship, and the belief that strong organizations thrive when leaders put others first. In addition to his executive leadership, Mark serves on the Executive Board of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce (2025) and has held board positions with Dalton Utilities (2022–2024) and the Health Plan Alliance (since 2016). Mark and his wife have five children, six grandchildren, and three large dogs who keep life exciting outside of work.

Jeff Smedsrud is a well-known health insurance strategist and entrepreneur. He has founded and led seven companies to successful exits. Active in healthcare public policy, he is a go-to expert on individual market reforms that favor the private sector. He is a board member for the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt that has helped erase medical debts for more than 20 million Americans (at last count).

Nate joined MMA in June of 2020. His 23 years of consulting experience includes the design and implementation of several domestic utilization-driving health plans for hospitals and health systems across the country, the development of a comprehensive reporting package that demonstrates the impact of various population health management programs on an employer's paid claims spend, and the execution of numerous health and benefit plan unification projects relating to the merger-acquisition of two or more employers. In addition to his health and welfare consulting experience, Nate has played a direct and active role in the definition, development, and leadership of several innovative health care solutions. This experience has equipped Nate with the unique ability to convert an idea into a meaningful business plan and, ultimately, that business plan into a productive solution.

For the past 5 years, Cherlyn has been a valued member of EPIC Insurance Brokers, where their dedication to excellence continues to make a meaningful impact. Beyond the professional sphere, Cherlyn is an avid reader, a lover of music, and cherishes quality time with family and friends.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Hunter Rowe is a dynamic voice in the world of employee benefits and organizational well-being. As Vice President at Foundation Risk Partners, Hunter brings years of expertise in strategic benefits planning, helping businesses create meaningful, people-first solutions that support both the workforce and the bottom line.

Known for his approachable style and practical insights, Hunter speaks to corporate teams, HR leaders, and business professionals about the evolving landscape of employee benefits, leadership, and workplace culture. Outside the office, Hunter’s world revolves around his wife and their newborn baby girl. An avid outdoorsman and musician, he finds balance in hunting, fishing, and strumming his guitar.

Jennifer has been a member of NAHU for over 20 years and earned their Soaring Eagle Leading Producer Roundtable award. In addition, she was chosen as one of Employee Benefit Adviser’s Top Women in Advising for 2020. In her spare time Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, playing guitar, gardening and reading.

Joey Mertlich is committed to delivering outstanding service and creative solutions to organizations as an Employee Benefits Consultant at Brown & Brown in Tacoma, WA. Over the last twelve years, he has worked with employers to develop healthcare strategies that address the immediate challenges of rising costs while also focusing on long-term organizational objectives. Joey is passionate about bringing out the best in people and employers to build healthier communities and strong workplace cultures.

Abby Olson, MBA, SHRM-CP, is Vice President of Human Resources for Meyer Foods Management, overseeing HR operations for over 2,500 employees across multiple businesses and states. With nearly two decades of HR leadership experience, she is known for her strategic, people-first approach and ability to connect with employees at all levels. Prior to Meyer Foods, Abby built and led the HR function at Westfield Steel, where she worked for over 12 years. She holds an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and lives in Noblesville, Indiana with her family.

Ryan Hutchinson serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS), a position he has held for over 28 years. In his role, Ryan oversees the daily finance and operations functions of the seminary, including the Institutional Advancement and Student Services divisions. During his tenure, SEBTS's budget has doubled, and the student body has grown from 1,500 to over 5,000 students. SEBTS, one of six seminaries owned by the Southern Baptist Convention, is located in Wake Forest, NC, on the original campus of Wake Forest University, just outside of Raleigh.

Jaima Eisenhauer began her career in long term care as a Certified Nursing Assistant while attending Indiana University. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in public health/health administration in 1999, she joined Miller’s Health Systems as an Administrator in Training and became a licensed Health Facility Administrator.  Jaima spent 15 years leading a skilled nursing facility before transitioning into the Human Resources department.  Jaima has held various HR positions and now leads the department.  

Meleah has been working in the health benefits world for over 16 years but has found administering at Morrison Child & Family services to be the most rewarding. She loves helping her staff with their benefits while they remain committed to Morrison’s mission of helping children and families in their community.

When not working, she enjoys cooking and working in the garden.

Melanie Nohl graduated from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a Bachelors in Accountancy in 2011. Right after graduation, she started her career with Ironhorse Resources. She has been with the company for 14 years. Ironhorse Resources is in the railroad/transportation industry.

Johnna Barnard, MBA, serves as the Chief Customer Officer at Remodel Health, a leading provider of health benefits software for employers. With a robust background of 30 years in operations, training, and leadership development, she is a success-driven leader committed to enhancing customer experiences. Johnna holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Anderson University, specializing in Organizational Leadership. Prior to her tenure at Remodel Health, she contributed her expertise as the Director of Enrollment at Anderson University. Since joining Remodel Health five years ago, Johnna has played a pivotal role in the company's growth from approximately 30 to over 175 employees, expanding its national footprint and product offerings, and establishing it as the largest Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) provider in the industry. Her leadership continues to drive innovation and customer satisfaction in the evolving landscape of health benefits.

Libby Hart is a seasoned insurance professional with 30 years in the insurance industry. She leads and grows Remodel Health's ICHRA business strategies, working closely with carrier partners across the country. Drawing on her diverse background with carriers, ICHRA administrators and brokers, she focuses on crafting innovative benefit strategies and solutions. Recognized for successfully implementing complex ICHRA projects and programs, she is poised to guide carriers in operationalizing ICHRA strategies and efficiencies. Libby thrives on collaboration and continuous learning, and in 2025, she was appointed as Vice Chair for the HRA Council board, helping to shape the ICHRA market and develop educational initiatives nationwide.

As Vice President of National Business Development, Central at Remodel Health, TJ Witham leads the charge to elevate Remodel Health as the national best-in-class ICHRA administrator. With over a decade of experience working in sales and customer success organizations, including ExactTarget, Salesforce, and Springbuk, he has worked with countless business leaders to evaluate and adopt innovative solutions to drive business results. As an early employee at Springbuk, a health analytics software company for self-funded employers, TJ was responsible for growing and supporting all strategic partners - including brokers, captives, TPA's, and wellness vendors on a national level. TJ is married with 2 young boys, residing in Zionsville, Indiana.

Angela Platta is a steadfast strategic consultant with over 20 years of expertise in employee benefits advisory, consultative goal alignment, and relationship-driven solutions. With two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors, she has honed her focus on collaborative strategic planning, employee population management, and innovative alternative funding solutions. Passionate about problem-solving, Angela challenges conventional (ordinary) benefits approaches and drives meaningful conversations that lead to extraordinary, employee-centric solutions. As the VP of National Business Development in the West Region for Remodel Health, Angela is leading the charge to build foundational partnerships with broker partners and elevate Remodel Health as the national best-in-class ICHRA administrator.

Jason Pappas is the VP of Business Development for the East at Remodel Health. He has over a decade of insurance innovation experience and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Pappas launched the first broker-based distribution channel at Lemonade during the path to becoming a public company. He later launched one of the first ICHRA products in the country and has spent the past four years helping Benefits Consultants, CEOs, CFOs, and HR teams understand and implement ICHRA plans.
