Artificial intelligence is changing the way many of us engage with technology and in particular the Internet. Recent surveys (*) show that in the last twelve months 62% of teachers have used AI in their teaching, planning or assessments and are more likely to use AI at work as opposed to their family life. We also know that 30% of the material used in schools, sourced by AI, is inaccurate. A large number of staff are using AI but most have had no training or guidance in it’s use. Our one day online training session will:
- look at what AI actually is and how it creates a response
- how AI is being used by schools (for assessment, curriculum content, personalised learning)
- the ethics of AI use
- provide a wide range of practical examples of AI use in schools to enhance
learning, including to design materials for children who don’t have English as
their first language, using game based activities to assess learning
- look at how do we know that what children provide is their work and not AI?
- assess who is responsible for AI use in your school
- look at policies for AI use
- suggest what training do staff need to be considered safe, effective users of AI
- what are the safeguarding implication for AI use?
Attendees will receive:
- sample AI policy
- outline for a staff AI training programme
- materials to use with parents to present your approach to AI
- 100+ ideas for using AI in the classroom
