NY International dance Festival Presents:

Landmark Dances

NY International Dance Festival was founded in 2024 by Artistic Director Brigid Le Minez to bring a diversity of dance styles to wide audiences and to offer freelance artists a platform for presenting new choreography as well as old classics. The festival highlights character, folk and national dances that celebrate and showcase cultures from around the world. We are thrilled to present “Landmark Dances” as part of the Afternoon TEA series.

NY International Dance Festival’s “Soirée Celtique” that took place last year was featured in Dance Informa:

About Ms. Brigid Le Minez:

Brigid Le Minez (née O’Leary) is originally from New York and has been immersed in the world of dance since a young age. She studied Irish step dance as a child, followed by ballet at Elfriede Merman’s Manhattan Ballet School, Joffrey Ballet School, Staten Island Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre’s summer  program. As a teenager, she was introduced to character dance and it married Ms. Le Minez’s early interest in traditional folk dance and her ballet training. She has danced professionally with Staten Island Ballet Company, Victoria Ballet Theater, International American Ballet and American Liberty Ballet.

With an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion, Brigid Le Minez founded the New York International Dance Festival. This project stems from her determination to cultivate talent and facilitate creative exchange.

Ms. Le Minez has had the honor of bringing the NY International Dance Festival to perform at Le Mandapa theater in Paris, France and we participate in other local dance festivals and events such as The Center at West Park’s 2025 Evolution Festival last September! NYIDF is a proud member of le Conseil International de la Danse-UNESCO and is fiscally sponsored by The Field, NYC. Our next festival will take place on Saturday, March 14th at Ballet Arts Center for Dance in Manhattan.

Brigid is an alumna of Fordham University at Lincoln Center and of the Middlebury College French School/La Sorbonne. She has taught French at St. Paul’s School in NH, Rutgers Preparatory School, LCJ Summit Middle School in NJ and Professional Children’s School and The Dalton School in Manhattan.
