Mediumship and channeling have been recorded throughout human written history. The past 100 years has provided us with a wide variety of research and findings. Mediumship and channeling are more common than most might realize and, in general, imparts a positive benefit to those who practice them. Multiple studies have demonstrated the accuracy of mediumship to gain information that would otherwise not be available by conventional means. Further studies have evaluated the physiological effects during the mediumship and channeling state with mixed results. While the source of such information is still debated and will likely, the medium’s subjective understanding of the source of information can be explored. So too can the practical applications and benefits of mediumistic experiences for the practitioner and receiver.
Join us for this symposium to explore current mediumship and channeling research projects. Topics will include veracity studies, mediumistic writing analysis, semi-naturalistic methods in mediumship research, mediumship in children, and group channeling to answer scientific questions. There will be question and answer periods for each presentation and a panel discussion about the next steps in mediumship and channeling research.
The event will be held at Airmeet.com. It is recommended that attendees use Chrome on a desktop/laptop with a camera and microphone enabled for the best user experience.

The Parapsychological Association is an international professional organization of scientists and scholars engaged in the study of psi (or 'psychic') experiences, such as telepathy, clairvoyance, psychokinesis, psychic healing, and precognition. First established in 1957, the PA has been an affiliated organization of the American Association for the Advancement of Science since 1969. The mission of the PA is to: Promote scholarship and scientific inquiry into currently unexplained aspects of human experience. Disseminate responsible information to the wider public and to the scientific community. Integrate this information with knowledge from other disciplines.

This session’s goals are to 1) briefly review mediumship and channeling research and 2) describe a study evaluating whether channeling can be used to obtain useful information about scientific questions.

This study represents an additional contribution to the scientific study of mediumship, its main aim being to identify the source of the information given out by a medium.

Two Parts: The first paper describes and presents results of a semi-naturalistic methodological proposal combining ecological validity and control (of fraud or information leakage) to evaluate information produced in psychographed letters allegedly written by deceased people. The second paper investigates the occurrence of AIR in a mediumistic experiment using a controlled semi-naturalistic method that sought this balance. It presents two letters psychographed by two mediums to two sitters.

The aim of this study is to investigate the stylistic fit of literary texts under different genres produced by supposed spiritual authors, obtained while under mediumistic trance.

This study allow for proper double and triple blinding experimental protocols offers the opportunity to verify if the information delivered by a medium is accurate; a suitable experimental design also provides the opportunity to measure physiological effects associated with retrieval or accurate information.
