Objective of this bootcamp is to transfer the specialize knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) network technologies, it's design, architecture and operational best practices and how to build and operate a large scale IP network step by step.

The bootcamp includes considerable practical work and industry use case based on IPv4 as well as IPv6 and Cisco IOS, JunOS, Huawei and/or MikroTik router configuration commands.

Target Audience

Technical staff of small to large scale Telco, ISP, Bank or other enterprise who are involve in day-to-day network operation function.

Pre-requisites

This bootcamp does not include an introduction of routing and switching devices. The lab exercises use Cisco IOS, JunOS, Huawei and/or MikroTik router configuration syntax. So it is assumed that the participants know how to use a router command line interface, do basic router configuration and have a working knowledge of an IGP (OSPF or ISIS) and BGP fundamentals and the basic operation of any of these OS.

Number of Participants

Thirty Six (36)

Course Outline

IP (v4 &v6) network introduction & global Internet architecture overview
Routing policy principle and translating it to current business requirement
IGP (OSPF/ISIS) design & architecture best practices for both service provider and enterprise networks
BGP introduction, attributes and policy
BGP scalability (including Route Reflectors and Communities)
BGP Multihoming Techniques (redundancy and load balancing)
MPLS introduction and its business drivers
LDP Protocol design and implementation
MPLS Layer 3 VPN Concept & Architecture
MPLS Layer 2 VPN Concept & Architecture
MPLS Traffic Engineering

Lab Exercise Module (20 Routers Lab with real industry topology)

Modules

Module 1: Standard router and interface config for a production deployment
Module 2: OSPF Config with advance router features for faster convergence
Module 3: iBGP config with Route Reflector and industry BCP to scale for further growth
Module 4: eBGP config with multihoming, high availability and load balancing option. (local pref, AS path prepend, community, multipath etc)
Module 5: LDP configuration to deploy MPLS enable multiservice platform
Module 6: MPLS L3 VPN deployment. Site to site, full mesh and hub and spoke VPN
Module 7: MPLS Traffic engineering to manipulate IGP path selection to serve business need

Note: After completing these lab exercise participants will be able to build their own working config template to reuse for their day to day work.
