The San Francisco Employer Advisory Council (SF EAC), in partnership with the Employment Development Department (EDD), would like to invite you to our upcoming Seminar (In Person) workshop. Take advantage of attending our monthly seminars/webinars, to learn more about California employment law, employee management, and more.

We will have Officer Michael Tilly member of the UCSF Police Department speak at our next SF EAC seminar on the topic Active Threat – Run, Hide, Fight

The UCSF Police Department is offering training and information session on handling active threat situations. This presentation will help attendees understand what constitutes an active threat, what response options are available, and how to recognize the characteristics of potential perpetrators, including identifying behaviors, indicators, and traits of individuals who may pose a violent threat. Early recognition and reporting can prevent violent incidents through timely police intervention. This program is appropriate for anyone who handles employee complaints, manages employees, or makes decisions impacting the workplace.

Presenter Bio:

Officer Michael Tilly has been a valued member of the UCSF Police Department since 2013, bringing extensive expertise and dedication to various roles. Raised in the Bay Area, he has excelled in specialized capacities such as field training officer, watch commander, tactical life saver, and as a key member of the Special Response Team, significantly enhancing campus safety and security. With over a decade of experience as a firearms and active threat instructor, Officer Tilly is recognized for his proficiency and has trained extensively with multiple agencies to keep pace with changing environments. His unwavering commitment to public service and safety initiatives continues to positively impact UCSF and the broader community. Officer Michael Tilly's extensive experience, specialized training, and dedication to safety exemplify his pivotal role within the UCSF Police Department, enhancing both safety and quality of life in the community.

1.    Address Situational Awareness, Identify Potential workplace violence indicators

2.    Discuss mental preparation, describe the actions of responding law enforcement officers
