Blueprint is a program of the Foundation for Better Business, built to help trades-based small businesses grow stronger and win public infrastructure work.

A Path to Partnership is Blueprint’s new four-part series, designed to help small, trades-based businesses break into the public contracting space through expert-led panels and high-impact networking. Each session tackles a key readiness topic—like certifications, bonding, insurance, licensing, and access to capital—offering real-world insight from prime contractors, public agencies, and business development leaders.

Session 2 Focus: Before You Bid: Licensing, Bonding & Insurance Readiness

  • What’s required to qualify for public and private contracts
  • Common mistakes that keep businesses from being contract-ready
  • Where to go for support, resources, and access to capital
  • How to reduce risk and stay compliant as you scale

You’ll walk away with actionable steps, trusted resources, and connections to help you confidently pursue larger opportunities.
