On behalf of the VACAPAF Leadership Team, I invite you to join us at the 77th Virginia Association of Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (VACAPAF) Convention. We will convene this event on January 30, 2020 to February 1, 2020 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Charlottesville, Virginia. This year’s theme is “Coming Together to Enhance the Brotherhood.”
As a District, we are continuing to grow and build eminent goodwill in the communities we serve. We embrace the principles that govern our organization, and the programs that enriches the community-at-large. Since 1943, the Virginia Association of Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has promoted our organization mission to develop leaders, promote brotherhood, academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.
Attendees can look forward to a 3-day convention with public engagement program, reading to students at an elementary school, vibrant ladies program, life membership breakfast, fraternal training, leadership academy, focused business sessions, General President candidates’ presentations, college brother’s competitions, an array of vendors, and a celebratory Black and Gold Awards gala in recognition of achievements by our brothers and chapters for the 2019-2020 fraternal year. Most of all, we will have the opportunities to engage, meet, and collaborate with brothers. The conference will begin on Thursday evening and end on Saturday evening.
This year, the Public Program will combine an inspirational program with a minister and choir then an esteemed panel to address social, educational, political, and economic issues of our communities about children of color. The theme for the program is "Raising Our Children with Equity Versus Equality." This program will be open to all and serves as a forum people in the community.
