Eastwood MetroPark, 1385, Dayton, OH, 45424, United States.

Come join the 788th Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) flight from Wright-Patterson AFB, OH on National EOD Day to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty as EOD Technicians.  This year, we specifically remember Technical Sergeant Kristoffer M. Solesbee as well as Staff Sergeant Joseph J. Hamski.  TSgt Solesbee and SSgt Hamski were killed in the Shorabak district, Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device on May 26th, 2011.

To honor the fallen, the 788th EOD will be hosting a 5K and 10K fun-run morning event at Eastwood MetroPark, (1385 Harshman Rd, Dayton, OH 45431.)  The run will take place on the morning of the 5th of May, National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Day.  All are welcome to attend on May 5th, but any donation is welcome very much appreciated.  For participation, a minimum donation of $20 is requested and as a thank-you, you will receive a limited production T-shirt.  All proceeds from the event will go directly to benefit the EOD Warrior Foundation.

The EOD Warrior Foundation was established through the March 1, 2013 merger of the EOD Memorial Foundation and the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation and is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.  Their focus is to serve the “EOD community by providing financial assistance and support to active-duty and veteran wounded, injured or ill EOD warriors, families of our wounded and fallen EOD warriors and by maintaining the EOD Memorial.”  For more information, see http://www.eodwarriorfoundation.org/about
