The idea of neurodiversity started in the 1990s to highlight that people with autism have many unique strengths, not just challenges. Over time, the term has expanded to include individuals with ADHD, learning differences, and other ways of thinking that don’t always fit into traditional molds. Today, many educators, employers, mental health professionals, and advocates are rethinking how we support and empower neurodiverse individuals.

At our conference, we’ll explore the evolving definitions of and perspectives on neurodiversity. You’ll hear from experts, professionals, and individuals with lived experience who will share the latest research, practical strategies, and powerful personal stories.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, employer, counselor/therapist, healthcare provider, an individual seeking support, or just curious to learn more, this event will offer valuable insights into embracing different ways of thinking and empowering potential.

Join us on Saturday, May 17 at Evanston Township High School for presentations that will challenge assumptions, spark new ideas, and celebrate the power of diverse minds!

This event would not be possible without the ongoing support of our sponsors, donors, panelists, presenters, and volunteers to whom we are deeply grateful. For more information on how you can support NRCI or to request a partial or full scholarship, please email NRCInstitute@thechicagoschool.edu, call 312.467.2552, or use the blue "Contact Organizer" button below.
