The American Institute of Architects Middle East Chapter will host its 12th AIA ME Conference and Design Awards in Amman, Jordan, from November 21 to 22, 2025.
This year’s theme, JORDAN: Mosaic in Continuum, explores the intersection of cultural heritage and contemporary design. With a history shaped by civilizations from the Ammonites to the Romans and beyond, Jordan offers a unique setting for examining preservation, adaptive reuse, and urban regeneration. The program will highlight how architects and planners can balance tradition with innovation, ensuring that historic environments continue to inspire resilient and modern communities.
In line with this theme, the Design Awards introduce a new category: Cultural and Historical Heritage. This award celebrates projects that preserve and reinterpret historic environments, demonstrating how architecture can both protect the past and enrich contemporary life. Alongside the established categories, it underscores the vital role of architects in shaping vibrant, enduring communities through design excellence.
