The WSTC Winter Directors Meeting for Head Start and ECEAP directors and senior staff is coming soon, December 9 and 10 at the Embassy Suites in Tukwila. Registration is available for both days or one, as well as a remote option. Agenda is here.
With COVID-19 Pandemic slowly moving into the rearview mirror and major changes in both the state and federal government, the Head Start and ECEAP Directors Meeting this year will focus on moving forward and charting a new course. We have some work to do to map out our next steps. This includes tackling workforce challenges in creative ways, effectively supporting both staff and families with deep trauma, and tackling issues of racial equity, political instability, and tight budgets. We also have some immense opportunities as well to rethink our approaches and to lean into the momentum building around childcare, early learning, and addressing mental health.
Agenda is here, and includes:
Regrouping and preparing for state and federal government changes. We’re all trying to figure out what’s next, with a massive deficit at the state level and major changes in elected leadership at the federal level. We’ll have an opportunity to talk through what we think is coming down the road, and how to prepare our programs, staff and families as changes come our way.
