Achieving Better Outcomes through Deprescribing in Hospice Partial Approval - Free

Course Overview: Polypharmacy is an issue for patients over the age of 65 that often escalates during end-of-life when patients are prescribed both maintenance medications for chronic disease states and symptom management medications. Upon a patient’s admission to hospice, there is often a question of medication benefit at end of life for many of their medications. CMS continues to struggle with the high percentage of medications still being billed through Medicare Part D for patients on the hospice benefit. Discontinuing non-beneficial medications at end of life has been shown to improve patient comfort as well as their quality of life. Hospice clinicians can make an impact by framing medication discontinuation discussions therapeutically, clarifying that stopping or adjusting meds is done to prevent harm and promote patient well-being. NPHI 2023 Summit Education Series

This is our third year offering education opportunities as a benefit of Summit attendance! We have increased course offerings to provide a more robust clinical track in 2023.
 
When: Friday, April 14th - Wednesday, April 26th - courses will be available on-demand the week of the Summit to allow you to access the courses on your schedule. All NPHI Summit attendees (virtual or in-person) registered for all days have the opportunity to register for any or all of the course offerings at no additional charge.

To access the Summit Education Series registration, you must be registered to attend the 2023 Annual Summit (in-person or virtual), all days. After completing Summit registration you will receive an email with information to access the Summit Education Series.

    • Please register for each course you would like to complete.
    • Registration with work email is required.
    • Links to access your courses will be shared via email the week prior to the Summit.
    • Each hour will offer one CEU for eligible roles. 

 

Course details are included in each ticket type. Additional offerings will be made available over the next week.
