The OrthoNebraska Symposium strives to provide the most relevant and up-to-date education on current research, patient cases, surgical & rehabilitation techniques in the orthopaedic and sports medicine fields. Supported by a faculty of fellowship-trained orthopaedic and sports medicine providers, we aim to provide regional athletic trainers, physical therapists, nurses, advanced practice providers and medical physicians with ample quality educational opportunities.

UPDATED: COVID-19 Precautions

Following CDC recommendations fully vaccinated guests and attendees will not be required to wear masks, though they are recommended by the venue.  Unvaccinated attendees and guests should continue to wear a mask, venue hospitality and serving staff will be donning masks as well.

The Metro Omaha Medical Society is accredited by the Nebraska Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Nebraska Medical Association (NMA) through the joint providership of the Metro Omaha Medical Society and OrthoNebraska.

The Metro Omaha Medical Society designates this conference for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 


OrthoNebraska (BOC AP#: P8593) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provider continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. This program is approved for 7 Evidence Based Practice Category hours/CEUs.

 


OrthoNebraska has been approved to provide 7 units of continuing education for physical therapists by the Continuing Education Committee of the Nebraska Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. Attendees should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

He was a member of the University of Minnesota National Championship hockey team in 2003. He has also authored numerous research presentations and was honored as Clinical Resident of the Year at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Michelle Reilly, PT, DPT

Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michelle moved to Omaha in 2002 to attend Creighton where she studied exercise science. She attended Creighton for physical therapy school and received her DPT in 2008. She completed the residency in orthopedic physical therapy at Creighton in 2009 and received her initial orthopedic specialization in 2010 with recertification in 2020. She has more than 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics with a practice focused primarily on post-operative rehabilitation and musculoskeletal disorders of the lower quarter. Michelle has a passion for dancing, especially ballet and she specializes in the physical therapy treatment of performing artists. She serves as the primary physical therapist for American Midwest Ballet, the only professional dance company in the Omaha area. Michelle is an assistant professor at Creighton University’s School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. Her role includes teaching in the musculoskeletal series as well as teaching Patient Management I and Differential Diagnosis. She is also a member of the clinical education team at Creighton. Her scholarly agenda focuses on the teaching/learning of clinical reasoning as well as the physical therapy treatment of performing artists. Additionally, Michelle provides care for patients at OrthoNebraska.

Ryan Arnold, MD

With OrthoNebraska since 2011, Dr. Arnold’s practice encompasses all sports-related injuries, with a focus on the knee. Dr. Arnold trained under Dr. Scott D. Gillogly, a pioneer in the treatment of articular cartilage disorders. During this training, Dr. Arnold served as an Assistant Team Physician for the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL and Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL. He has ongoing research interest in the treatment of difficult cartilage disorders and has co-authored research and presented at international meetings. Dr. Arnold has experience with complex knee surgeries, to include multi-ligament repair, cartilage repair, autologous chondrocyte implantation, osteochondral autografts and allografts.
