A buyer is a person or entity that purchases goods or services from a seller in exchange for money. Buyers play a crucial role in business transactions, whether in retail, wholesale, or business-to-business contexts.

In a transaction, the buyer may seek out products or services that meet their needs or specifications and negotiate terms like price, delivery, and payment. Once the buyer and seller agree on the terms, the buyer makes the payment to complete the purchase.

Example:

  • In e-commerce, the buyer is the customer who places an order for a product online.
  • In real estate, the buyer is the individual or company purchasing a property from a seller.

Michael Brown was an 18-year-old high school graduate and amateur rapper and musician in St. Louis County, Missouri, who went by the stage name of “Big Mike.” On the morning of August 9, 2014, Michael and friend Dorian Johnson were confronted by a Ferguson police officer after a report of a theft at a nearby convenience store. After an initial struggle between the police officer and Michael, during which the officer fired his gun twice, Michael and Dorian attempted to flee. The police officer shot Michael six times, killing him. Less than 90 seconds passed from the time the white police officer encountered Michael to the time of his death.

Heather’s work (and talks) center around leveraging family history and ancestral stories to foster self-understanding, personal growth, and a sense of identity. Her key themes include:

  • How beliefs, values, and patterns may be inherited across generations — and how knowing those roots can help break negative cycles or reinforce positive legacies.

  • Why understanding the past matters: knowing one’s ancestry can help you understand “why you are here,” “who you are for,” and what strengths/lived experiences from previous generations you carry forward.

  • Using that insight as leverage: transforming ancestral stories into empowerment, self-awareness, and a foundation for building a future that’s aligned with one’s deeper identity and personal purpose.
