This course is taught by rocky Mountain Lifesavers (RMLS). RMLS is staffed by trained Registered Nurses. Every instructor maintains current CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. They have used these techniques many times and teach from experience—their stories add to the impact of their instruction. Our classes follow the latest guidelines established by the American Heart Association.


CPR – Using the techniques on adults, children and/or infants. This class includes procedures to treat choking. (Offered informally or for certification)

AED – Using a defibrillator to save an adult, child and/or infant.

The Department of Campus Safety is staffed 24 hours a day year-round by trained professionals employed to serve the University community. In life-threatening emergencies, or when you need immediate police, fire or medical assistance, make the following TWO calls: 911 and 303-871-3000 (1-3000). DU Campus Safety logs over 62,000 computer aided dispatch events (approximately 170 per day) and over 13,000 calls for service. Additionally, approximately 1,000 reports are written annually by Campus Safety Officers.
