School Visits, with Suzanne Morgan Williams
Join award-winning author Suzanne Morgan Williams for this four-hour mini-workshop on creating outstanding school visits. Suzanne will cover such things as:
- the benefits of school visits and speaking gigs
- identifying your audience and your strengths
- planning your program
- working with schools
- tips on lining up visits and speaking gigs
This will be a hands-on workshop where you will have the opportunity to work on your own presentation to use during a school visit or other speaking engagement. This workshop is geared toward SCBWI Published and Listed (PAL) members and other published children's authors and illustrators.
As an added bonus, B&N has offered to order the books of all published attendees and have them available for signing or purchase at this event. If you are interested in having your books available, please leave your name and titles in the appropriate box during the registration process. Be prepared to sign stock at this event if you choose to have your book(s) ordered. Names and titles must be turned in by Wednesday, Sep. 4th to give B&N enough time to order. FYI, B&N will do its best to have title(s) available, but they cannot make any guarantees.
Suzanne's book, Bull Rider, will also be available for purchase.
NOTE: This event will be capped at 50 participants, so register early!
ALSO NOTE: There will be a one-hour lunch break at noon. Lunch will not be provided; however, there is a cafe located inside the store and there are several restaurants nearby.
If you have any questions, please contact Elissa Cruz at email@example.com.
