Teen Empowerment Day! (TED) Inspiring- Motivating- Educational
This is a Must Attend event for all teens ages 13-17! The day will be filled with a variety of different speakers and presenters who will be sharing their own personal experiences about life defining events that have shaped their own lives today. The morning will consist of local citizens sharing their personal stories, followed by 2 afternoon speakers Shane Feldman & Darren Jacklin. Both of these presenters are international teen motivational speakers and they are truly amazing!

Madison Fertig- Current Miss Teen Red Deer, Madison will be speaking on the impact that suicide has on friends based on her own personal experience of losing a life time friend to suicide.
Nicole & Dean Williams- These parents will be speaking about the impact that suicide has on families based on their own experience of losing their son to suicide in Feb 2013.
AJ Mahoney- Is a teacher at a local high school and he will be sharing about the impact that suicide has on a school community.
Chad Olsen- He will be speaking about the impact that drinking & driving has, based on his own personal experience. Chad's decision to drive under the influence caused the death of 2 parents and Chad wants to share his story with teens and empower them to make smart choices.
Lyle Cheney- Is a Martial Arts teacher and owner of Cheney Karate. Lyle will be teaching some basic self defense moves which teens can utilize if they find themselves in a threatening situation.

Shane Feldman- From Toronto, Shane is a Speaker, Actor, Humanitarian, Activist, Leader & Teenager. After experiencing an exceedingly challenging transition into high school, Shane found his key to happiness: getting involved. Parents May Attend The Event:
As a parent or guardian of a teen attending, you may attend the event with them however lunch will only be provided for the teens. RDC does have different facilities where lunch can be purchased on site. When registering, only include the teens in the registration, parents you do NOT need to register yourselves for the event.
