with Jo Bailey and Sam Wells
at Church of the Holy Family (Chapel Hill, NC)
Who
Join men and women from the Durham Convocation for a lenten day of reflection with the Rev. Dr. Jo Bailey Wells, and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Samuel Wells. Jo Wells is an Associate Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry and Bible at Duke Divinity School and is the Director of the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies there. Sam serves as Dean of Duke Chapel and Research Professor of Christian Ethics at Duke Divinity School.
What
During our day of reflection, Sam and Jo will lead us in exploring four characters central to biblical narratives of the first Holy Week. The presentations that Sam and Jo offer will be based on the form of Sam's book, Power and Passion: Six Characters is Search of Resurrection, which was selected by the Archbishop of Canterbury as his 'Lent Book' for 2007. Copies of Power and Passion will be available for purchase throughout the day. A vegetarian sack lunch is included as part of the registration cost. Opportunities for silent reflection and for corporate worship will also be a part of our day together.
