Description: It's a power packed week of film and live theater! Your child will be encouraged to find the creativity God placed in their heart, and to Act It Out! Campers will gain experience in basic acting techniques, but will also walk away with a lifetime of good memories. They will learn by doing as everyone works together on the end-of-week extravaganza performance! Camp sessions will allow each person to discover their strengths in drama, whether in film or stage. There will be comedy sketches, mock news skits and plenty of improv games. All your child has to bring is their imagination!
Ten Talents Summer Camp is a week-long, intensive, fun study of performing arts for children and youth. The camp is designed to help young people discover their creative abilities in a wholesome environment. Acting is a craft that can be taught by any qualified teacher, which Ten Talents has, but we make a point to let children know that creativity is a God-given gift with great purpose, and that no matter what form their creativity takes, they can use it to change the world.
Each day of camp begins and ends with a large group session. The morning session goes over the learning objectives of the day, letting the kids know what to expect. It also includes an “inspiring thought of the day”, consisting of a Bible verse, to give the campers perspective on the value of discovering and honing their creative abilities. After morning session, the children break into groups and start having fun and making memories.
The day itself is broken down into four sessions that the different groups rotate through. There is a one hour break at mid-day for lunch. Class size will be about one teacher for every 10 students, along with camp aides. The sessions will teach performing techniques through games and acting exercises, as well as provide time for rehearsing for an end-of-week performance. This includes time for filming as well.
WHY IS IT FREE? Good question! At Ten Talents we are a faith-based program. We believe that our gifts were freely given to us and therefore we will freely give them away. Our camps are in high demand and to hold your spot we have now implimented a registration fee to filter out those who may reserve a spot for their child and not attentd the camp and to help with administration costs.
