Students will engage in various forms of sports and physical activities in both individual and team formats. This club will take place in the Physical Education courtyard in the middle of the school. Some examples of activities include but are not limited to soccer, various forms of tag, and activities participated in Physical Education Class. This club is meant to provide students with the enjoyment and introduction to friendly competition while exposing them to lessons and values learned in the ideas of the importance of traits such as teamwork, interdependence, hard work, self-satisfaction, and good sportsmanship.
Students will create crafts, diagrams, and complete activities that help them learn about various plants and animals in nature.
Students will work together to complete building challenges while using different materials each week in hands-on STEM activities.
Students will play and investigate their own interests with educational sites including Brainpop, Accelerated Reader, Reading Eggs, Starfall, Storyline Online, and Tumble Books.
Students will build puzzles and play games that require using strategy such as; Checkers, Jenga, Uno, and other card games.
The students will learn through books, songs, arts and crafts and outdoor discovery time.
Through background knowledge, stories, arts and crafts, and scientific discovery students will learn what an adaptation is and how it helps saltwater animals survive.
In this club, members will have the opportunity to build Lego structures each day.
Come learn about measuring, mixing, and following directions. We will be making fun things like ooblek, play doh, and slime! You can even take it home!

In this club, students will engage in simple and fun ways to be physically active. The goal of this club is to show students how fun and important being physically active is to one’s health and wellness. Activities include but are not limited to; jump rope, Hula Hoop, various games of tag, and playground activities.
Students in this club will enjoy dancing to various songs and learn different dances each week. They will have lots of fun moving to music.
Students will read AR books together and take an AR quiz in order to better achieve their AR goals.
In Lego Club students will have the opportunity to build Lego structures and various simple machines each day.
This is a club geared for kids who want to explore painting with much more than just a paint brush! We will be creating art while using silly things to paint with like q-tips, dice, sponges, shaving cream and much more! Bring an old shirt or art smock!
In Dinosaur Club we will explore dinosaurs through many different activities and investigate such as, reading books, completing crafts, and researching about all different types of dinosaurs that used to roam this earth.
In this club, members will play four corners, heads up 7 up, and many others while practicing their addition skills.
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! Discovery Academy of Science offers multiple clubs on each day except Friday. Please be mindful to that all club placements is on a first come first serve basis and up 20 students per club. If a club is full before you get to register, you can still sign in the waiting list. If there is an opening for that club, placements will be made from the first waiting student on the waiting list. Parents of those will be notified via email.
After completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation e mail. Please retain the confirmation email until receiving your student’s club schedule from Ms. Holland within the first week of the school. Clubs will start on Monday, Aug 22nd, 2016.
