Cultivating Leadership through Creativity & Mindfulness: 4 day Intensive for Teens
taught by Ann Hollar, M. Ed. and Grace Schlitt
This course is intended for high school students, 14-19 years old.
Course Description
Come explore leadership through creativity and mindfulness.
A mindful practice develops a sense of inner balance allowing our unique intuition, creativity and passion to emerge. A creative practice unlocks personal confidence, power and presence through exploration and experimentation. Together, creativity and mindfulness are invaluable leadership tools, fostering an atmosphere where ideas are accepted, uncertainty is embraced, and inovative solutions emerge.
Leading from the inside out, we will explore:
- making mistakes
- shifting perspectives
- unpacking the stories we tell ourselves
- listening to our fears
- being comfortable with our inner landscape
- finding new paths to innovation
- learning how to strongly engage others
- using intuition to guide problem solving
- nurturing passion and compassion
- finding our unique inner power
- empowering others
During the week we will practice mindfulness and creativity through fun games, quirky improv and engaging projects. Come prepared to make sense out of nonsense and order out of disorder. You will leave with an expanded sense of self and others, which will allow you to lead with inspiration, passion and compassion.
"The role of a creative leader is not to have all the ideas, but to create a culture where eveyone can have ideas and feel valued." - Sir Ken Robinson
