‘Christians in Politics: Opportunities, Challenges and Pressures’

Speaker: Sir Steve Webb, Former Minister of State for Pensions

How do Christians live and work and serve in the hostile environment of politics and make a difference? Please feel free to invite your friends from other churches.

Sir Steve Webb was a local MP for 18 years, and Minister of State for Pensions in the Coalition Government 2010–2015. He introduced major reforms which made the pensions system fairer and allowed greater financial freedom.

Sir Steve has been a member of the cross-party Christians in Parliament, vice-president of the Liberal Democrat Christian Forum, and Professor of Social Policy at the University of Bath.

Student Session. A session for students will follow on after the main breakfast offering the opportunity to ask more detailed questions. This should be especially valuable to any student thinking about a career involving politics. Starting at 9.30 – 10am. To sign up click here.

The cost will be £5.00 for Breakfast, students/concessionary £4.00, payable on the day.

The Breakfast is open to the Churches in Bath, and to students interested in politics.
