6 customer service tips for your next event

Customer service can be one of the top things people remember when dealing with any business, and is often the reason why someone gives a particular business their patronage. The better your customer service policies and skills are, the more people you will find love your company over time!

When you are working hard planning your next event, take some time to work on your customer service policies.

TICKETS
Ask yourself how you will handle cancellations; will you transfer the tickets to your next event, refund the purchaser’s ticket price, or offer a different option to your guests if they have to cancel? If someone misplaces their ticket information, how will you resend their ticket? Look for these options when you select your online ticketing software for your next event.

TRAVEL
Have your answers ready to go when it comes to travel and accommodations – if your online event registration page allows, try to post information on local hotels, rental car agencies, and places to dine locally as well. If this is not something your website can accommodate, see if you can include the information in a follow-up email that is sent out by your event ticketing software post purchase.

ITINERARY
If possible, make sure that there is some sort of record of what you have planned for your event. Guests may want to only attend certain parts or make sure they arrive on time for something they are featured in, and this will be one way that you can help make their experience more satisfying.

ONLINE FAQs
Make sure that everything you will have available information-wise to visitors at the time of the event (in print mostly) is available beforehand and during the event online. Have a mobile-friendly website option available as most attendees will be online using their smartphones.

CONTACT
Have a way for customers and prospects to contact you at any time during normal business hours. Offer a phone number, email address, live chat option, etc. Whatever works for you and your event! People will appreciate the efforts you make to be more available to them.

ALTERNATIVES
In case of special needs or concerns, have alternate arrangements available. This includes information for anyone with a disability that might otherwise prevent them from enjoying the event, or special considerations for those with allergies or other dietary concerns. Make this information available to everyone prior to and at the time of the event.

If you handle things right you will not only have a group of satisfied guests, but will also win attendees for future events through positive word of mouth advertising and current guests purchasing tickets to your next event as well.
